Equipment Display

The equipment display is a new interactive way of describing what items is present on your character IC wise. Items will be displayed on a 3D version of your character as icons. The icon will stay on top of the same position on your character, even when you rotate or move the model around.

Overall it covers the following features:
  • Display any of your GHI items on your equipment display
  • Place the item in one of the standard positions (slots) or create your own precisely where you want to.
  • See the equipment display of another player easily by pressing a button placed at the target frame.
  • Make the equipment display fit your character by choosing between 35 different backgrounds.
  • Run an item directly by right clicking it in the display.
There is many different options and ways to use the equipment display. You can choose to display smaller objects such as jewelery and medals, but you can also choose to make a GHI item that represent a piece of your ingame armor and then display the details you want in that items tooltip.

If you like realistic handling of items, then you can make a backpack item container and place it on the back slot in the equipment display. You can then access it from the display and keep track of what items your character got on him in his IC backpack.

It is also possible to use the equipment display to describe features of your character which would normally not be an item. E.g. you can make an item that describes a scar or a wound and then place it on the position on the character that you want.

The button to toggle the equipment display is first shown in the middle of the screen, but it is fully moveable, so you can move it to your target frame, even if you are using a Unit Frame AddOn.

The equipment display are (like all other GHI frames after 1.0) freely moveable. You can also copy the equipment display of another player and keep watching it after you have changed target.

New Buff System

To make GHI more dynamic and avoid collisions with other addons we have developed a new buff system. It features is the same as the old buff system, but it holds a lot of improvement in compatibility and stability. This is something we had received many requests about from the casual users.

The buff system displays its buffs in a buff frame similar to the existing one, but this buff frame is completely movable for both the target and the player. The frame is invisible when there is no buffs on it, but a tab is displayed when you move your mouse over it, so you can drag the tab to place is where you want it. The displays are both placed in the middle of the screen as default, so they can easily be located and moved.

Area Sound and Buff

Area Sound and Area Buff are two new Area of Effect actions, allowing users to interact with multiple GHI users at the same time. A sound effect can be given a range and then be heard by every GHI user within that range when it is casted. In the same way can a buff be given a range and then be casted on all GHI users within the range.

Hearing the area sounds are optional and can be disabled. In the same way it is possible to clear all buffs off yourself in the options panel.

Adding a range to a sound or a buff is simple. There is now a range textfield in the menu for creation these actions. Leaving it blank will make the buff / sound non-area and it will work as normal.

Area Buffs are displayed in the same way as normal buffs, but are cast much easier on many people.
